Investigations into the Interstitial: An Iterative Morphogenetic-Morphologic Development
Integrating Karl Chu’s notion of Morphogenesis, where form is generated using internal genetic logics involving processes of rewriting, recursion and self-replication, and Peter Eisenman’s concept of the Interstitial condition, explicated in his project for the Casa Guardiola. The Interstitial Trace is the recording, marking and imprinting of the Processes of addition and subtraction between a figure-figure relationship, involving a series of formal operations including cloning, shifting, rotating, scaling and mirroring of the figures.
